Black Truffles (Tuber Aestivum – Tuber Uncinatum)

The most important truffle of the Imperial Court of Vienna since 1756.

• The white truffle has a globular shape, with numerous depressions that make it irregular. The outer surface is smooth and velvety.
  
• The color varies from pale cream to dark cream to slightly greenish. Its flesh or gleba is clear, white and grayish yellow with white veins.
• The summer truffle, also known as the black truffle, has an irregular shape and is covered in pyramid-shaped brownish warts.
• It has a brown or blackish exterior, with interior spidery white-grey or white-yellowish veins webbing around. It has an intense flavor and grows in the sandy and loamy soil of the forest.
• One can easily find it in the horn beam, beech, lime, hazel and oak forests where it grows in symbiosis with their roots. It is an appreciated truffle and can be harvested from July to November.
• Our team harvests black truffles from Europe. The richest area with truffles is near the medieval fortress of a traditional rural area with landscapes and old forests.
• Transylvania is the largest natural habitat of the brown bear, proof of the fact that urbanization has not affected the conservation of the natural environment in this area.
